But why is it so difficult to answer this simple question?

響多倫多,幾乎係人見到你就問侯how are you?
I'm fine, thank you.而是:Good! or Doing Good!
唔知道 "I'm fine, thank you" 是已 out-dated了, 還是這是英式的說法?
people also don't say "i'm fine" in uk, but will say "fine" "good" or "very good"
same thing, just a greeting, not really question, no different from hi and hello
so interesting to discuss the "answer" to the "how are you" question.
alright, at least we can confirm we could say "fine" in UK, but not in US.
well, for safe and univeral use, saying "Good" is most preferrable! HA!
Up here Toronto, ppl sometimes would say, "I'm fine, thanks" still. I'm doing good/well",或者,回應"Good, how are you?",對方會話:Good, thanks.
I'm ok." or "Not bad!"
It's too early to know if I'm good!
在LA,How are you係有番咁上下年紀的人才會講的問候語,較年輕的,見到人會先講:Hi guy!是less formal, more friendly的問候。 Hi, how are you?
要扮作很excited,睜大眼睛,高少少音講:doing good! and you?
